Job summary

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is offering a 13-month placement in Assembly Quality Management at Goodwood, near Chichester. You will learn production systems, contribute to quality improvements, and gain practical insight into a world-class automotive manufacturer from day one.

You will work on developing robust quality improvements, understand production line complexities, and support initiatives that align with our mission to take the best and make it better.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree with a 2:1 or higher in Engineering, IT or a related field.
  • Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing, Manufacturing Systems, or Quality Systems.
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing techniques.
  • Ability to communicate in English; German would be beneficial.
  • Ability to work independently within the management team and organise oneself.
  • Take projects from concept through to a complete, implemented solution.
  • Strong PC skills and MS Office proficiency.
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Systems is desirable.

  • Actively solving complex issues related to our production systems.
  • Support, coordination and management of specific daily tasks and longer-term projects.
  • Co-ordination and steering of key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Support and implementation of quality improvements through complex problem solving.
  • Analysis of data sets to provide transparency to the target environment for improvements.
  • Steering and implementation of planning activities to support volume flexibility and new product introduction.
  • Support the Value Production System and Work Organisation throughout Assembly.
  • Develop into an all-rounded professional ready for challenges.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Goodwood, Assembly Quality Management - Placement Year (July 2027)

We are seeking a forward-thinking student that has a passion for problem solving, and technological innovation to join our Assembly Quality Management department. You will play a fundamental part in supporting the development and improvement of key business and quality processes. As an intern you will quickly learn the complexities of our production line and will play a pivotal role in developing robust quality improvements that help us on our mission to 'take the best that exists and make it better'. What awaits you?
  • Actively solving complex issues related to our production systems.
  • Support, coordination and management of specific daily tasks and longer-term projects.

What should you bring along?
  • Studying a Bachelor's degree and on track to achieve a 2:1 or above in an Engineering, IT or relevant course.
  • Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing, Manufacturing Systems and or Quality Systems.
  • Ideally you will have a good knowledge of manufacturing techniques.
  • Able to communicate in the English language; German would be beneficial.
  • You need to be able to work independently within the management team, have the ability to organise yourself and work in a team environment.
  • You will be required to work from your own initiative taking projects and tasks from concept through to a complete and implemented solution.
  • Strong PC skills and a good working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Systems is desirable.
