Job description

Our client, based in Gloucester, is seeking an Assembler to join their team on a 12-month contract. The Assembler will be responsible for assembling, testing, and troubleshooting products to ensure quality and compliance with manufacturing standards.

Key Functions
  • Read and interpret assembly drawings, procedures, and written and verbal instructions.
  • Identify components and use appropriate hand tools, rework techniques, and assembly equipment.
  • Accurately assemble oilfield completion products and tool assemblies.
  • Test assembled products and tool assemblies to ensure functionality and quality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to products and assemblies.
  • Create and maintain labour and work records in the relevant business systems.
  • Perform daily 5S activities and actively participate in lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance on machines using written instructions and checklists.
  • Wear required PPE at all times and comply with health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Successfully complete all required safety training, including but not limited to crane, forklift, drugs and alcohol, electrical safety, emergencyresponse, fire safety, first aid, health and hygiene, PPE, SIPP, risk reporting, IT security, hazardous materials, and driving.
Special Knowledge & Skills
  • Basic soldering skills (intermediate level preferred), including understanding of solder and flux theory.
  • Practical experience with soldering techniques such as tinning, splicing, Jenkin spring, turret soldering, and crimping.
  • Ability to select correct tools, solder types, fixtures, and equipment for the task.
Minimum Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Vocational or trade school qualification (preferred)
