Job summary

A leading educational support organization in Westbury is looking for a Graduate Learning Support Assistant to provide support to vulnerable students. This role involves working closely with students facing social and emotional challenges and requires a degree in Criminology or Psychology. The position offers competitive daily rates and starts ASAP, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

Qualifications

  • Graduate level with a degree in Criminology, Psychology or a related field.
  • Empathetic individual with an interest in Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties.
  • Motivated to work with challenging behaviours and mental health difficulties.

Responsibilities

  • Work 1:1 and in group settings with vulnerable students.
  • Support students facing anxiety, social withdrawal, anger issues, trauma, grief and social difficulties.
  • Help students make positive choices and guide their behaviour.
  • Increase student engagement in and outside the classroom.

Job Overview

A fantastic school in Westbury is looking for a Graduate (Criminology or Psychology would be relevant!) to work as a Learning Support Assistant from Monday to Friday, to start ASAP. The school caters for pupils who have a range of social and emotional difficulties, as well as challenging behaviours and low self-esteem. You will play a significant role to ensure the students make positive choices, helping to guide their behaviour and increase their engagement in and outside the classroom.
