Job summary

A leading Slough secondary school rated Outstanding by Ofsted is recruiting a Science Teaching Assistant to support KS3-KS4 biology, chemistry and physics, with a view to future teacher training. Start ASAP for the full academic year.

Salary is £100-£115 per day, term-time only. The role offers hands-on lab experience, mentorship from experienced teachers, and preparation for PGCE or STEM teaching careers.

Qualifications

• A high-achieving Science graduate (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics).
• Ideally holds a 2:1 or above from a top university.
• Passionate about education, STEM, and student development.
• Committed to a full academic year of consistent support.

Responsibilities

• Supporting KS3 and KS4 students across the Science curriculum.
• Delivering tailored 1:1 and group academic support.
• Preparing resources and assisting with practical science experiments.
• Helping manage behaviour and engagement in lab settings.
• Collaborating with experienced teachers and the head of Science.
• Tracking progress and providing feedback on student development.
