Job summary

Milk Education Hayes is seeking an Aspiring Occupational Therapist or Speech Therapist to work as a Learning Support Assistant, supporting students with SEMH, sensory processing and motor challenges. This role offers frontline experience in a specialist provision, helping pupils re-engage and reach academic potential in a supportive school environment.

You'll work 8:30am–3:45pm, Mon–Fri (term time) in Hayes, starting September 2026.

Qualifications

• No prior school experience required — attitude and intent are key.
• Strong interest in sensory integration or paediatric rehabilitation.
• Resilient, patient and able to build trusting relationships.
• Willing to support vulnerable learners to re-engage with education.

Responsibilities

• Support students 1:1 and in small groups to raise attainment.
• Help pupils re-engage with learning and build positive routines.
• Provide sensory and SEMH support to improve focus and behaviour.
• Implement fine and gross motor activities to aid development.
• Collaborate with teachers and OTs to deliver targeted strategies.
• Encourage a culture where education is valued and achievable.
• Maintain a safe, structured learning environment.
