Job summary

Oldham Council is recruiting for an Apprentice Housing Options Officer in Oldham. This fixed-term 2-year role supports Homelessness Prevention, Housing Register and Temporary Accommodation teams, with a focus on learning and progression.

You will develop strong admin skills, gain housing sector experience and work within a forward-thinking local government environment. Training and career growth are highlighted throughout the programme.

Qualifications

• Experience with maintaining accurate information systems and data handling.
• Ability to input, update and extract data within computerised systems.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams for drafting letters, data management and reporting.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry.
• Experience supporting administrative duties and service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate computerised information systems by inputting, updating and extracting data.
• Follow processes for setting up projects and raising purchase orders.
• Assist budget holders with financial system queries and requisitions.
• Keep customer records up to date.
• Support Housing Officers with day-to-day admin duties and service delivery.
• Use Microsoft Office to draft letters, manage data and prepare reports.
• Contact customers under supervision to gather documents relating to housing and homelessness applications.
