Job summary

Ribbons and Reeves Limited in Chelmsford is seeking a motivated Psychology Graduate to support children with SEND and SEMH needs as a SEN and SEMH Support Assistant. You will work in classrooms and through targeted 1:1 interventions to foster academic and emotional development.

This role offers hands-on experience in a supportive secondary school environment alongside experienced SEN professionals, with a clear path toward Educational or Clinical Psychology in the future.

Qualifications

• First-Class or 2:1 Psychology degree or related subject from a leading UK university.
• Has previous experience working with children or young people.
• Is patient, resilient and passionate about supporting young people.
• Is confident building positive relationships with students.
• Is considering a future career in Educational or Clinical Psychology.
• Wants to make a genuine difference to young people’s lives.
• Is eager to develop their understanding of SEND, SEMH and behaviour.

Responsibilities

• Work with students requiring additional support in class and through targeted 1:1 interventions.
• Support students’ academic, social and emotional development under SEN professionals.
