Salisbury District Hospital in Wiltshire is seeking an experienced Aseptic Services Pharmacist to lead the Pharmacy Aseptic Unit, ensuring compliant, safe sterile preparations. As Trust Accountable Pharmacist, you will drive PQS, oversee audits (EL97/EL52) and provide expert clinical guidance on cytotoxic reconstitution, parenteral nutrition and CIVAS.

Qualifications

Registered Pharmacist with GPhC.
Hospital aseptic services experience.
Knowledge of national QA standards.
Experience managing aseptic units under Section 10 exemption.
Proven leadership and staff management.
Understanding of PQS and risk management principles.

Responsibilities

Act as Trust Accountable Pharmacist for the Aseptic Unit.
Lead and develop the Pharmacy Aseptic Unit with safe, high‑quality preparations.
Provide expert clinical advice on stability, compatibility, and aseptic processes.
Lead on PQS development, internal audits, and quality improvement.
Oversee external audits (EL97, EL52) and ensure compliance.
Provide supervision and governance under the Medicines Act Section 10 exemption.
Advise clinicians on prescribing and administration of complex injectables.
Oversee environmental monitoring and CAPA/workload reporting.
Lead capacity planning for aseptic services.
Contribute to Trust strategy for injectable medicines.
Oversee computer systems and documentation in the Aseptic Unit.
