Job summary

Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Assistant Technical Officer for the Preparative Services in the busy Aseptic Unit of the Pharmacy Department. You will join a dedicated team performing aseptic preparation, dispensing sterile products and ensuring compliance with SOPs.

The role requires attention to detail, reliability and the ability to work across flexible hours, including weekends and bank holidays. Training and development are supported within the NHS framework.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English grade C or above.
  • Knowledge and experience underpinned by training or NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services.
  • IT literate with databases and Microsoft tools.
  • Experience in a pharmacy aseptic unit and manufacturing chemotherapy.
  • Able to lead and supervise staff within SOPs.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills; understanding GMP.

Responsibilities

  • Aseptic manufacture and preparation in sterile conditions with specialist equipment.
  • Prepare documentation for aseptic processing.
  • Dispense oral medications and IV products.
  • Perform environmental monitoring in the aseptic unit.
  • Dispense TPN.
  • Undertake specialised cleaning of the aseptic unit.
  • Supervise and train staff in aseptic services; ensure high standards of service and GMP.
