Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific in Swindon is seeking 5 Technical Operators for double days shifts (07:00–15:00 / 15:00–23:00) on a rotating weekly schedule. The role involves setting up bulking and aseptic filling lines, maintaining cleaning and GMP standards, and supporting startup and validation activities within a regulated pharmaceutical environment.

Applicants should have a background in science, strong English and math, Lean/CI experience, and familiarity with SAP and quality systems.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a pharmaceutical or regulated environment (MHRA and FDA) is required.
  • Cleanroom experience and aseptic manufacturing knowledge desirable.
  • Experience with spray drying, bulk GMP powders and powder filling.
  • Strong English and mathematics with a science background (A-Levels) essential.
  • Equivalent science-based experience acceptable.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork; ability to manage workload.
  • Experience with Lean systems and Continuous Improvement.
  • Understanding of HMI-driven pharmaceutical systems.
  • Aseptic block license will be considered a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate bulking/aseptic filling lines per SOPs.
  • Maintain Bronze License Badge access to Production areas.
  • Manufacture pharmaceuticals following BMRs and SOPs.
  • Perform GMP-compliant manufacturing, filling and packaging.
  • Minimize downtime, support start-ups, changeovers and cleaning.
  • Monitor equipment and report faults.
  • Keep clean rooms and equipment compliant with regulatory standards.
  • Perform CIP and SIP procedures.
  • Operate autoclaves, airlocks and cleaning systems.
  • Report non-conformances for investigation.
  • Support project validation and new product introduction.
  • Perform SAP transactions and quality system reporting.
  • Conduct basic equipment maintenance.
