Job summary

Lucion, a leading UK risk and compliance specialist, is seeking an Asbestos Surveyor to join the Hazardous Materials team in Reading. This field-based role involves carrying out management, refurbishment and demolition surveys across commercial and public sector sites, with a focus on safety, accuracy and professional reporting.

You’ll work independently while collaborating with project teams to deliver defensible surveys that support risk management and compliant buildings.

Qualifications

• BOHS P402 or equivalent qualification.
• Experience with asbestos management, refurbishment and demolition surveys.
• Knowledge of HSG264 and current asbestos legislation.
• Detail-oriented with ability to produce technical reports.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel across Reading area.
• Independent worker who contributes to a technical team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out asbestos surveys including management, refurbishment and demolition surveys.
• Complete asbestos sampling and assessments, identifying potential asbestos-containing materials.
• Collect detailed site information using digital systems and produce survey reports.
• Provide professional advice to clients, contractors and project teams.

We’re currently looking for an Asbestos Surveyor to join our Hazardous Materials team in Reading. This is a field-based role, working across a variety of commercial, industrial and public sector environments where your expertise will make a genuine difference.

What You'll Be Doing

This is a varied, hands-on role where your surveying expertise directly supports safer buildings and better decision-making.

You Will

• Carry out asbestos surveys including management, refurbishment and demolition surveys.
• Complete asbestos sampling and assessments, accurately identifying potential asbestos-containing materials.
• Collect detailed site information using our digital systems and produce clear, comprehensive survey reports.
• Provide professional advice and guidance to clients, contractors and project teams.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with HSG264, current legislation and Lucion’s high standards.
• Build strong relationships with clients by delivering reliable, professional surveying services.

About You

You understand the responsibility that comes with asbestos surveying and take pride in getting the details right.

You’ll Ideally Have

• BOHS P402 qualification (or equivalent RSPH qualification/Certificate of Competence).
• Experience completing asbestos management, refurbishment and demolition surveys.
• A good working knowledge of HSG264 and current asbestos legislation.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate technical reports.
• A full UK manual driving licence and the flexibility to travel across Reading and surrounding areas when required.
• The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a professional technical team.
