Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Asbestos Surveyor Analyst to support a busy workload across Basildon and the wider Essex region. The role blends surveying and analytical duties on commercial, domestic, and public sector sites, with a strong training and development focus.

The successful candidate will hold BOHS P402/403/404 and have UK driving licence, with a genuine opportunity for long-term career progression within a well-established consultancy.

Qualifications

  • BOHS P402/403/404 qualifications are essential.
  • Experience as an Asbestos Surveyor Analyst or dual role.
  • Strong understanding of HSG264 and HSG248.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out Management and Refurbishment & Demolition surveys per HSG264.
  • Undertake air monitoring and four-stage clearances.
  • Perform reassurance, leak, background, and personal air testing.
  • Conduct bulk sampling and follow procedures.
  • Produce accurate survey and analytical reports per HSG264/HSG248.
  • Work across commercial, domestic, and public sector sites.
  • Manage workload across multiple sites.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Maintain high health and safety, quality and compliance.

The Role
  • Carrying out Management and Refurbishment & Demolition (R&D) asbestos surveys in accordance with HSG264

  • Undertaking air monitoring, including four-stage clearances and reoccupation certification

  • Carrying out reassurance, leak, background, and personal air testing where required

  • Conducting bulk sampling and ensuring correct procedures are followed

  • Producing accurate and compliant survey and analytical reports in accordance with HSG264 and HSG248

  • Working across commercial, domestic, and public sector properties

  • Managing your workload efficiently across multiple sites

  • Liaising professionally with clients, contractors, and internal teams

  • Maintaining high standards of health & safety, quality, and compliance

About You
  • BOHS P402, P403 and P404 qualifications (essential)

  • Previous experience working in an Asbestos Surveyor Analyst or dual role

  • Strong understanding of HSG264, HSG248, and current asbestos legislation

  • Experience working within a UKAS-accredited consultancy is desirable

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Strong communication and report-writing skills

  • Ability to manage your own workload independently

  • Professional, organised, and reliable approach to work
