Job description

Our client is highly successful and fast-growing client based asbestos consultancy in the UK and due to current state of the business, they have an immediate opening for an enthusiastic, self-driven and ambitious Asbestos Consultant who holds the P402 and is based in and around the Manchester area. Consideration will be given to applications from Bolton, Stockport, Oldham, and the surrounding areas.

The successful candidate must come from a strong technical, asbestos and consultancy, removals, management, construction, Health & Safety background and must hold the P402/P403/P404 or theS301/ CCP asbestos certificates and at the same time must have a proven track record working within this role and within the asbestos industry.

A good knowledge of the UKAS accredited systems – IS017020.
Must be familiar with the Health & Safety procedures/legislation with regards to asbestos.
Must have excellent communication, organizational, people management, leadership, and technical skills.
Must be competent in using the Microsoft Office Package.

Key Responsibilities

• Overseeing and managing team/staff – office and on-site.
• Providing technical services to clients and updating any new development with regards to legislation, technology, and code of practices.
• Complying with industry standards and guidance.
• Delivering asbestos services effectively and providing expertise and guidance to staff.
• Meeting client’s needs as per needs and within time scale.
• Have hands on surveying and collating accurate reports.
• Ensuring profitability and efficiency and performance with regards to services provided.
• Identifying new business leads.
• Get involved with Continuous Improvement of the business – Quality standards, etc.
• Ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with the Health & Safety procedures with regards to asbestos.
• Attending operational and technical meetings as and when required.
• Ensuring that the company maintains a good level of technical and quality competence in all aspects recognized by external UKAS accreditation.
• Carrying out audits, inspections, and quality control.
• Liaising with UKAS.
• Advising on training requirements.
• Writing up Asbestos Management plans and reports.
• Building and maintaining a good rapport with the company’s mixed portfolio of clients.
