A prestigious educational institution in London is seeking a Senior Project Officer to support the Artsmark project aimed at enhancing arts education across schools. This role involves delivering training, advocating for the Artsmark Award, and providing crucial support to schools. The ideal candidate should possess strong organisational and collaborative skills and a passion for arts education.
Goldsmiths, University of London, has partnered with Arts Council England (ACE) to be the national learning programme provider for the Artsmark award (2023–2026, with a possible extension to 2027). The programme, led by Professor Tara Page (Department of Educational Studies), represents a groundbreaking shift in arts education and teacher professional development. It introduces a holistic, action-research-based approach that empowers schools to critically assess and transform their arts, culture, and creativity practices.
Prof Tara Page (Department of Educational Studies) is seconded as Artsmark Project Lead for the duration of the contract, overseeing the project's strategic direction and working closely with the Senior Project Officer (this role) and the Artsmark team at Arts Council England.
Prof Page, to whom the role-holder will have a dotted line of reporting and supported by a teaching team of Goldsmiths academic staff, will deliver the modules of the learning programme. Administrative support is provided by the Research and Knowledge Exchange department, including a dedicated Artsmark Senior Project Officer (this role) and Artsmark Project Officer/s (held by two post holders @ 0.5 FTE), forming the Artsmark Project Team.
This role is an opportunity to be at the forefront of a transformative national learning programme, shaping the future of arts education and making a tangible difference to teachers and schools nationwide. We seek a dynamic, organised, collaborative individual who shares our passion for creativity and education.
We are looking for a highly skilled individual to support the Artsmark Project Lead in the delivery of this complex but exciting project. The Senior Project Officer is an exciting role which will be instrumental in shaping the future of arts and culture education in school settings across England. As a project-specific team, you will work independently to support the project, but will be able to draw on experienced colleagues in the wider team as required.
