Job summary

Ronald James Group is seeking an AI Engineer to design, build, and deploy AI-powered features and services. You will focus on integrating LLMs into production applications, building scalable backend systems and practical AI solutions.

You will work with LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel and major APIs to deliver robust AI tooling, with strong emphasis on TypeScript/Node.js, REST APIs and modern cloud-based infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience building production-grade AI-enabled features.
• Proven backend exposure with Node.js/TypeScript and REST APIs.
• Experience integrating LLMs and AI services into scalable apps.
• Familiarity with cloud services and CI/CD pipelines.

We're looking for an AI Engineer to design, build and deploy AI-powered features and services. This is a hands-on development role focused on integrating LLMs into production applications, building scalable backend systems and delivering practical AI solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and deploy AI-powered features from prototype to production.
• Integrate LLMs, AI services, tools and agents.
• Develop and maintain backend services and REST APIs.
• Build reliable, scalable applications and integrations.
• Work with product and engineering teams to identify AI opportunities.
• Contribute to internal AI tooling and development best practices.
• Practical experience building applications with LLMs, using tools such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, OpenAI or Anthropic APIs.
• Strong backend development experience, ideally with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Some frontend experience, ideally with React.
• Experience with REST APIs, asynchronous programming and databases such as MongoDB or PostgreSQL.
• Understanding of software testing, deployment and production environments.
• Experience using AI tools to support coding, testing and development.
• A hands-on approach to prototyping, problem-solving and learning new technologies.
• AWS services, including Lambda, SQS/SNS, S3, Bedrock or SageMaker.
• Vector databases, embeddings and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Prompt engineering and LLM evaluation.
• Docker, containerisation and CI/CD pipelines.
