This is a fantastic opening for a proactive QTS Art Teacher to join a well-resourced Creative Arts department in Preston. Whether you are filling a long-term maternity leave or seeking a flexible supply contract, you will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of artistic expression across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE).
You will play a vital role in helping students find their unique creative voice, ensuring they have the technical support and inspiration needed to produce outstanding portfolios and exam pieces.
Deliver Dynamic Lessons: Plan and teach engaging Art & Design lessons that cover a wide range of media, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media.
GCSE Portfolio Support: Guide Year 11 students through their controlled assessments and final practical exams, providing expert feedback to maximize their marks.
Inspire Innovation: Introduce students to diverse artists, movements, and cultures, encouraging critical thinking and personal expression.
Studio Management: Maintain an organized, safe, and stimulating studio environment, ensuring all materials are used effectively and responsibly.
Progress Monitoring: Assess student work regularly, celebrating success and providing clear pathways for technical improvement.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential, along with a degree in Fine Art, Design, or a related creative field.
Secondary Experience: Proven success teaching Art & Design across KS3 and KS4 levels in a UK school.
Technical Expertise: Strong skills across various artistic disciplines and the ability to demonstrate techniques to students clearly.
Adaptability: The ability to step into a new department and build immediate rapport with students and staff.
Compliance: A current Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or a willingness to obtain one).
