Job Summary: We are seeking a passionate and inspiring Art Teacher to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging art education to students with complex SEN needs across various age groups. The role involves nurturing their creativity, technical skills, and appreciation for the arts within a supportive setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging art lessons tailored to students with complex SEN needs.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages artistic expression and exploration.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Organize and supervise exhibitions, projects, and displays of student artwork.
  • Maintain a well-organized and stimulating art classroom with necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding student progress.
  • Stay updated with current art education trends and incorporate new techniques and ideas into lessons.
  • Support school events and extracurricular activities related to the arts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Art, Education, or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching art, ideally with children or students with SEN.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating artistic skills and creativity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students with complex needs.
  • Knowledge of current art education methods and materials.
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) would be ideal.

Salary: £130 - £175 per day (or per hour, depending on the contract and experience)

Contract Duration: This is a fixed-term contract for 2 terms, starting from 3rd November.
