Job summary

Pleckgate High School, part of the Education Partnership Trust, invites applications for an Art Teacher to join our large Blackburn-based academy on a full-time, permanent basis from 1 January 2027. You will contribute to high-quality art education across key stages and support curriculum development.

Qualifications

• Qualified to degree level in an art-based subject or adequate post degree conversion course.
• Qualified teacher status.
• Ability to deliver high-quality lessons in art to pupils of all ages and abilities.
• Experience of teaching art across the Key Stages and securing good outcomes.
• Knowledge of art curriculum requirements and developments.

Responsibilities

• Assist development of syllabuses, resources, schemes of work and marking policies.
• Plan and prepare courses and lessons.
• Support curriculum development to complement academy objectives.
• Participate in staff development and training.
• Contribute to monitoring and evaluation of the art area.
• Assist in curriculum, organisation and pastoral activities.
• Maintain MIS records and data accuracy.
• Communicate with parents as appropriate.
