An inspiring opportunity has arisen for a creative and compassionate Art ECT to join a vibrant SEN school in Weston-super-Mare. This specialist setting supports young people with a variety of learning needs, and the school is widely respected for its inclusive, therapeutic, and creative ethos. Art plays a central role in promoting communication, emotional expression, and wellbeing across the school.
This is a truly rewarding opportunity for an early career teacher who wants to make a lasting difference through the arts. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team committed to nurturing each student's unique strengths and celebrating creative success in all its forms.
You will deliver creative lessons to small groups across KS3 and KS4, adapting content to support students' individual EHCP targets. Your curriculum will explore drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, and digital art, with a strong emphasis on process, self-expression, and developing fine motor skills. You'll contribute to school exhibitions and celebrate students' achievements through displays and showcases.
Ideal for a newly qualified Art teacher or trainee completing QTS this year, who is passionate about inclusive education. Experience in SEN environments is desirable but not essential-what matters is creativity, patience, and a belief in the power of art to transform lives. A flexible and trauma-informed approach is key.
