Job summary

Supply Desk in Slough is seeking an enthusiastic Art Teacher to join a welcoming school. You will plan and deliver engaging Art lessons, align with the curriculum, and prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations.

You will inspire creativity, manage classrooms effectively, support students of all abilities, and uphold safeguarding policies. Flexible working and professional development opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Art and Design and the relevant curriculum or examination specifications.
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging, creative, and practical Art lessons.
• Passion for Art and inspiring students to develop creativity, confidence and skills.
• Encourage experimentation and development of personal ideas.
• Commitment to raising attainment for all abilities.
• Understanding safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• A current enhanced DBS on Update Service or willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, creative, challenging, and inclusive Art lessons in line with the curriculum and examination specifications.
• Teach Art to diverse students, developing artistic skills, creativity and understanding of techniques.
• Develop knowledge across disciplines including drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, textiles and mixed media.
• Encourage experimentation with materials and approaches to foster personal artistic style.
• Inspire students to explore artists and movements and apply influences to their work.
• Prepare students for GCSE, A-Level or other Art examinations.
• Assess and monitor progress, providing constructive feedback for development.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom and promote high behaviour standards and safeguarding.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop students' knowledge and understanding of a range of artistic disciplines, including drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, textiles, and mixed media where appropriate.
• Encourage students to experiment with different materials, techniques, and approaches while developing their own creative ideas and artistic style.
• Inspire students to explore artists, designers, cultures, and artistic movements and apply these influences to their own work.
• Prepare students effectively for GCSE, A-Level, or other relevant Art and Design examinations.
• Assess, monitor, and record students' progress, providing constructive feedback to support their artistic and academic development.
• Create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, independence, experimentation, and participation.
• Promote high standards of behaviour, engagement, and respect within the classroom.
• Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.

Requirements
