Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Secondary Art Teacher for a dynamic school in the Liverpool area. The role is full-time, starts ASAP, and runs 8:00 am to 4:00 pm with a competitive pay scale.

You will plan, deliver and assess engaging art lessons, develop a robust curriculum, and maintain accurate records of progress while fostering a positive classroom environment and supporting students’ creative growth.

Qualifications

• QTS required for this role.
• Experience in a UK school is preferred.
• Safeguarding training is desirable, some training provided.

Secondary Art Teacher

Type: Long term
Start Date: As soon as possible
Hours: Full time: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
Pay: Competitive, paid to scale

Responsibilities

• Teaching and Instruction: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging art lessons that cater to a variety of skill levels. Encourage and develop students' creative thinking and artistic skills.
• Curriculum Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive art curriculum aligned with educational standards.
• Student Assessment: Evaluate and assess students' progress, providing constructive feedback to enhance their skills. Maintain accurate records of student performance and development. Prepare and administer assignments, projects, and examinations.
• Classroom Management: Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters creativity and respect. Establish and enforce classroom rules and procedures to ensure a safe and productive learning space.
• Professional Development: Stay updated on current trends and best practices in art education.
• Communication: Provide support and guidance to students in their artistic endeavours and career aspirations.

Experience, Training, and Qualifications

• Teaching qualification with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
• Previous experience in a UK school
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable, but not essential as some training will be provided)

• Enhanced Child Barred List DBS certificate registered with the online update service (or willingness to process a new application)
