About the Role

Prospero Teaching is excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated and passionate Secondary Art Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in the West Derby area to start in January 2026. This role will be for 4 days per week.

Position Details
  • Location: West Derby
  • Type: Long Term
  • Start Date: January 2026
  • Full Time/Part Time: 4 days per week
  • Hours: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
  • Pay: Competitive, paid to scale
Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Instruction: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging art lessons that cater to a variety of skill levels. Encourage and develop students' creative thinking and artistic skills.
  • Curriculum Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive art curriculum aligned with educational standards.
  • Student Assessment: Evaluate and assess students' progress, providing constructive feedback to enhance their skills. Maintain accurate records of student performance and development. Prepare and administer assignments, projects, and examinations.
  • Classroom Management: Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters creativity and respect. Establish and enforce classroom rules and procedures to ensure a safe and productive learning space.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on current trends and best practices in art education.
  • Communication: Provide support and guidance to students in their artistic endeavours and career aspirations.
Experience, Training, and Qualifications
  • Teaching qualification with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
  • Previous experience in a UK school
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable, but not essential as some training will be provided)
Eligibility Requirements
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Enhanced Child Barred List DBS certificate registered with the online update service (or willingness to process a new application)
  • Two professional references
