Job description
Art and Design Lecturer (Hourly Paid)

We are currently looking for an Art and Design lecturer to deliver engaging and inspiring lessons across our Level 1, 2, and 3 provision.

Key Details
  • Salary: £28.62 - £37.08 per hour based on experience and qualifications
  • Hours per week: Flexible
  • Weeks per annum: Various
  • Working pattern: Weekday, hours between 8:30 – 17:00
  • Location: Witney
  • Contract type: Fixed term until September 2026 (Term time only)
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare and deliver high‑quality and engaging Art and Design lessons.
  • Teach and support students across Level 1, 2, and 3 Art and Design courses.
  • Develop and implement innovative and inclusive teaching strategies to inspire and motivate learners.
  • Assess student progress effectively, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive, creative, and supportive learning environment.
  • Stay abreast of current trends and practices within the art and design industry and embed them in teaching.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, training and quality assurance processes.
Essential Requirements
  • Recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
  • Strong knowledge of Art and Design with demonstrable experience in delivering Level 1-3 content.
  • Proven track record of effective teaching and learning, ideally within further education or similar settings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles.
  • Good working knowledge of UAL (University of the Arts London) qualifications.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to working hours and teaching delivery.
Desirable
  • Industry experience in the field of art and design.
  • Experience of working with young people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience with curriculum development or course leadership.
  • Familiarity with digital design tools and online learning platforms.
