Job description

We are recruiting for up to two positions, which will be responsible for the commercial aspects of contract management for Army contracts. This involves monitoring supplier performance, implementing contractual changes, maintaining value for money, dealing with disputes, building and maintaining good working relationships with the customer team, the supplier, and other key stakeholders.

These are exciting and challenging roles in the Army Commercial Team, which consists of over 100 Commercial Officers and is responsible for hundreds of contracts, the combined value of which is over £5 Billion. The roles require leadership and initiative, as well as important skills such as customer and supplier relationship management. You will have plenty of prospects to develop these and other skills, both on the job and through managed learning opportunities.

You will build and maintain your effectiveness by ensuring that you keep up to date with contract management, procurement and HR policy developments. You will engage with other parts of the Army Commercial team to ensure that good practice is adopted across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation for contract commencement, managing the transition to the ACTS contract and the exit from legacy contracts due to end
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance, taking appropriate action where performance is below the specified standard
  • Ensure that both supplier and Authority obligations are monitored and met
  • Manage and implement contractual changes in collaboration with the customer and the supplier
  • Deal with contractual disputes with suppliers or claims from suppliers, escalation through Line Management chain as required
  • Maintain accurate contract documents and records and Management Information
  • Identify and manage risks and issues
  • Contribute to Business Cases as required
  • Carry out line management responsibilities
