Job summary

Breedon Group is seeking an Area Transport Supervisor to support our transport operations in the South of Scotland from Uddingston. You will supervise drivers, monitor regulatory compliance, and help ensure excellent customer service while upholding health, safety and environmental standards.

The role offers full training on Breedon products and processes, with a focus on efficiency, cost control and continuous improvement across the fleet.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport operations, preferably in construction.
• Understanding of DVSA regulations and transport compliance.
• Experience coordinating drivers and fleet resources.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to analyse data and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

• Embed health, safety and wellbeing culture across transport operations.
• Ensure compliance with DVSA regulations and keep Operations license current.
• Coordinate between Transport and Distribution to assess resources.
• Maintain records of transport activities and vehicle maintenance.
• Assist in managing transport budget and cost-effective solutions.
• Lead weekly driver briefings and address operational issues.
• Negotiate contracts with hauliers and service providers.
• Address customer complaints related to transport promptly.
• Supervise daily transport operations and be the primary contact for drivers.
• Monitor driver performance and organise training.
• Understand Transport KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
