Job summary

Arla Foods is seeking an Area Specialist at our Taw Valley site in Devon to oversee milk intake through to cheese milk out and whey processing. You will work with CAPEX, NPD and Production teams to commission new equipment and optimise processes while ensuring high standards of safety, quality and digital tool adoption.

The successful candidate will bring 5+ years in manufacturing line design, strong safety knowledge, Lean practices and cross-functional collaboration to deliver on tight

Qualifications

• At least five years of relevant experience designing and scoping full manufacturing lines and systems.
• Strong background in machine safety requirements, circuit design and classification.
• Good manufacturing practices and hygienic equipment design knowledge.
• Experience with SCADA/PLC systems and LEAN principles is advantageous.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage demanding schedules.

Responsibilities

• Oversee process areas from milk intake to cheese milk out and whey processing.
• Collaborate with CAPEX, NPD and Production teams to commission and optimise new equipment and processes.
• Maintain SOPs, GMP standards, and drive continuous improvement in the Line Centric Organisation (LCO).
• Coach operators on operational standards and support the implementation of new digital tools.
• Champion a healthy, inclusive and safe work environment with adherence to quality and food safety requirements.
