Job Title: Area Sales Manager – Shelving, Storage and Racking

Industry Sector: Storage Solutions, Shelving, Steel Sector Storage Equipment, Lockers, Mezzanines, End Users, Builders Merchants, Warehousing, 3PL, Grocery Retail, High Street Retail, Distribution, Manufacturing and Industrial

Area to be covered: North West

Remuneration: £45,000 - £50,000 + OTE circa £70,000 - £75,000

Responsibilities
  • Field sales position selling the supply and install of a distributed range of shelving, racking, mezzanine and storage solutions such as retail & shop fitting, storage bins & boxes, warehouse storage, tool storage, van storage and work benches.
  • Direct sell into end users, historically our client sells into 75-80% builder’s merchants, but looking to expand into warehousing, 3PL, grocery retail, high street retail etc.
  • Inheriting an area that has not had dedicated field sales coverage for 12 months.
  • Tasked with growing turnover from £700,000 to £1m+.
  • Typically 3 days a week on the road/field sales and 2 days working from home.
  • Projects from £1,500 (repair work) up to £250,000 for pallet racking/mezzanine floor (average circa £40,000-£50,000).
  • Huge volume of customer names past and present to utilise, whilst it is also expected that you will spend 40% of your time bringing in new customers from the newly targeted sectors.
Qualifications
  • Must have some associated field sales experience with either shelving, racking, mezzanine or storage solutions.
  • May consider forklift sales experience or other associated warehousing field sales experience.
  • Broad customer experience to help client enter into new sectors such as warehousing, 3PL, grocery retail, high street retail etc.
  • Experience selling into builders merchants would still be of interest.
  • High energy level and desire.
  • Specific product knowledge will be taught.
  • Strong negotiation experience and ability to deal with contractual procedures and responsibilities.
