Industry Sector: Heavy Plant Sales, Construction Machinery, Excavators, Dumpers, Rollers, Concrete Breakers, Portable Generators, Construction, Plant and Tool Hire companies, Hire Retailers, Civil Engineering Contractors, Landscaping Contractors, Ground Workers, Engineers and Industrial End Users, Machinery, Main Contractors and Housebuilder Developers.

Location

Area to be covered: North West.

Remuneration

Up to £50,000 base salary + £12,000‑£24,000 uncapped commission.

Responsibilities
  • Field sales role, selling a distributed range of construction plant sales, predominantly excavators, dumpers and rollers but also concrete/rock breakers and portable generators.
  • Premierly targeting ground workers and civil engineering contractors, but also plant and tool hire companies and hire retailers as well as landscaping contractors.
  • Targeted revenue of circa £5–7m (mini‑mid‑excavators £17–20k, 8 tonne excavators up to £75 k).
  • Typically target deals up to 10 machines, as the Managing Director manages key accounts.
  • Established area, no dedicated field sales resource for the last 6 months – role initially new business and re‑introductions.
  • Prepare quotes, weekly sales reports and order confirmations.
Qualifications
  • Proven track record in construction/plant sales sector.
  • Knowledge of plant machinery such as excavators, dumpers, rollers.
  • Open to other construction products sold into a similar customer base – ground workers and civil engineering contractors, and plant/hire/landscaping contractors.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Pro‑active new‑business mindset.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Resilient and comfortable dealing with contractors and site environments.
