I'm recruiting for an Area Sales Manager to cover Midlands/North England for a leading timber processor. The company supplies the markets with products for the construction, pallet wood, fencing and timber frame products and has a strong track record of growth, innovation and industry recognition. With multiple sites across Scotland and Ireland it invests in its people and technology and has a dynamic ambitious sales team.

Key Responsibilities

This is a field-based sales role covering the Midlands / North England and reporting to the Group Head of Sales your main responsibilities include:

  • Selling to an established customer base and generating new business.
  • Building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with key accounts, buying groups, and buying group members.
  • Achieving or exceeding annual sales targets and milestones.
  • Leading and growing the sales territory.
  • Maintaining the sales process and CRM from both account management and customer service perspectives.
  • Planning journeys effectively and managing accounts efficiently.
  • Due to the size of the territory, occasional overnight stays are required, along with site and customer visits.
What we need from you

The ideal candidate will be ambitious, self-motivated, and enthusiastic with proven experience selling timber or building products, particularly into the builders' merchant sector. Experience dealing with buying groups or their members is essential. Strong communication skills are needed with the ability to engage at all levels up to Director level
