The Team

At the Alcohol and Drug Service (ADS), we operate across Tasmania’s North, North West and South—reaching communities through our hubs and regional outreach centres. Our teams help people take decisive steps toward healthier lives, reducing harms from alcohol, tobacco and other drug use.

The Role

In this leadership role, you will:

You will need
  • Significant high‑level knowledge of and experience in management and leadership of professionals. Contemporary management knowledge, experience and skills in service delivery, strategic planning, policy development, human resources, business, project, change and information management.
  • High‑level strategic, conceptual, analytical and creative skills, along with the ability to plan and prioritise activities, formulate complex professional judgements and provide appropriate analysis of research of relevance to the sector.
  • Highly developed professional frame of reference encompassing interpersonal, communication, supervision, representation, conflict resolution and negotiation skills, including the ability to negotiate and work collaboratively with senior internal and external stakeholders.

Details of appointment

Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary

$149,660 to $160,625 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022
Salary Packaging

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia; or
  • Degree in Social Work giving eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers; or
  • Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia.

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Current Driver’s Licence.
  • Completion of progression toward the completing of a post graduate qualification relevant to the position.
