You'll lead Branch Managers to unlock the potential of every store, building high‑performing teams, driving growth and creating a culture where colleagues can thrive. With a mix of established, successful stores and exciting opportunities for further growth, this is a role where you can make an impact.

You'll also enjoy regular exposure to senior leaders and business‑wide initiatives, giving you the chance to influence decisions, contribute to key projects and help shape the future direction of Screwfix.

About the Role

As a key member of our Retail Operations leadership team, you'll be responsible for delivering sustainable commercial performance across your area while maintaining the outstanding standards, service and execution that Screwfix is known for.

This is a highly visible, field‑based leadership role where you'll spend time leading Branch Managers and their teams, coaching, supporting and challenging them to achieve their full potential. You'll use data, insight and strong leadership to identify opportunities, drive continuous improvement and ensure every store is operating at its very best.

Success in this role is about more than delivering results. It's about building capability, creating an engaging culture and empowering teams to provide a consistently brilliant experience for colleagues and customers alike.

Why This Area?
  • Lead stores within and around the UK's capital city.
  • Work within a fast-moving, highly visible trading environment.
  • Gain regular exposure to senior leaders and key business initiatives.
  • Play an important role in shaping and delivering our city‑store strategy and future store formats.
  • Build your profile through the unique opportunities, pace and challenges that a London-facing region presents.
  • Develop broad leadership experience across a diverse mix of urban, suburban and regional locations.
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Putting customers at the heart of every decision, using insight, feedback and local knowledge to continuously improve the customer experience and drive loyalty.
  • Leading, developing and inspiring Branch Managers to build high-performing teams, deliver outstanding service and achieve exceptional commercial results.
  • Creating a culture of accountability and excellence, where colleagues understand expectations, feel empowered to succeed and take pride in delivering their best every day.
  • Driving area performance, using sales, KPI and financial data to identify opportunities, manage risk and deliver sustainable growth.
  • Building leadership capability across your stores through coaching, feedback, talent development and meaningful performance conversations.
  • Championing diversity, inclusion and wellbeing, creating an environment where every colleague feels they belong, can contribute and has the opportunity to thrive.
  • Challenging the status quo and leading continuous improvement, identifying smarter ways of working to enhance service, standards and operational execution.
  • Ensuring operational excellence across every store, delivering strong compliance, consistent standards and effective execution of business initiatives and marketing plans.
  • Maintaining a visible presence in stores, providing practical support, constructive challenge and high-quality operational feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Managing stock, costs and budgets effectively, ensuring resources are optimised to maximise profitability and performance.
  • Leading new store openings and contributing to strategic projects, helping shape the future growth and success of Screwfix.
