Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking a dedicated highway service officer to join the Area Highways team at the Highway Depot. This permanent 37-hour role focuses on delivering highways maintenance across defined areas and serving as the first point of contact for the community on highway matters in an assigned area.

The position requires strong customer-facing communication, a commitment to statutory duties, and the ability to work in-person.

Job description

This permanent post sits in the Area Highways team at the Highway Depot and helps deliver highways maintenance across defined geographical areas. The core of the work is being the first point of contact for the community on highway matters in an assigned area, and carrying out statutory highway duties. It is a 37-hour post, not open to job share, suited to someone at ease with in-person, written and phone contact. Visa sponsorship is not offered, so applicants need a right to work covering at least six months.

What the job involves

Experience

• Relevant highways experience
• Relevant emergency management experience
