Job summary

Highland Council based at Portree High School is seeking an Area Cook 3 to cover Skye and Lochalsh. You will travel to locations to support day-to-day catering operations, oversee production, and manage welfare meals within a traditional or cash cafeteria setting.

The role involves supervising service delivery, cash handling, and ensuring compliance with relevant nutrition standards. 25 hours per week, permanent contract, salary £16,221–£17,757 per annum.

Qualifications

• Overseas Criminal Record Check may be required depending on nationality and residency history.

Responsibilities

• To travel to various locations assisting in the day-to-day operational requirements of the Service.
• To organise, administer and directly participate in the provision of a multi-choice traditional or cash-cafeteria catering service including the provision of welfare meals.
• This will encompass direct control over production, ordering provisions, cash collection and banking of Highland Council Monies.
• The smooth and efficient running of catering services, in compliance with the School Health Promotion and Nutrition (Scotland) Act 2007.
