Job Description
The Area Communications Project Manager’s role involves coordinating with internal
teams and external partners to ensure the timely execution and deployment of Area
products and deliverables, as well as ongoing evaluation of strategic initiatives. The ideal
candidate demonstrates thoughtful and proactive project management and collaboration,
excels in digital innovation, thrives in creative collaboration, and navigates diverse cultural
contexts with sensitivity and respect. With a focus on ensuring the right content reaches the
right audiences, at the right time through proper channels, the Area Communication Project
Manager plays a key role in advancing the Church’s mission and Area priorities.
- Align content deployment and channel strategies, including publishing timelines,
with Area product plans and budgets through close coordination with the division
managers and external vendors. - Support local contributors and national directors in effective channel management,
while coordinating with headquarters to deploy global campaigns and share Area
feedback. - Identify and address communication gaps to improve reach and effectiveness.
- Foster collaboration, creativity, and mutual respect across teams and cultures.
Responsibilities
Project & Stakeholder Management
- Lead end-to-end planning and execution of digital communication projects across
multiple channels, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic objectives. - Collaborate with leadership to define priorities, shape messaging, and secure buy-in
for key initiatives. - Act as primary liaison with external vendors and partners, managing relationships
to facilitate proper orientation to maintain high quality, consistency, and efficiency
in content production and deployment.
Coordinate with headquarters to deliver global initiatives and share feedback from
Area audiences to inform future strategy.
- Drive the implementation of global digital strategies across web, social media, email,
and emerging platforms. - Oversee Area-level channel planning and deployment, ensuring integration with
global frameworks and responsiveness to area and local needs. - Balance council-based communication models with data-informed and audience focused
approaches to maximise reach and engagement.
Monitor and adapt to evolving communication trends, incorporating best practices
from both established and innovative platforms.
Design & Content Execution
- Oversee channel publishing workflows, editorial calendars for efficient content
delivery across all digital channels,
Partner with design and production teams to develop visually compelling, brand aligned
assets that meet strategic goals, including the cultural adaptation of global
materials to resonate with local audiences.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor, evaluate and report on channel performance using analytics tools.
- Benchmark Area channels against global best practice and identify opportunities for
growth and improvement. - Ensure content accuracy, visual consistency, and legal compliance, as well as data
protection and digital governance requirements, by partnering with internal
stakeholders.
Prepare regular reports and recommendations for the Communication and
Publishing Director and councils.
Countries of Responsibility
- The Channels Manager will oversee digital communication platforms across all countries
within the Europe North Area.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, media, digital marketing, or related field (or
equivalent professional experience); a Master’s degree is preferred. - Extensive experience in digital channel management, communications strategy, or
digital content publishing. - Proven ability to execute digital campaigns and manage publishing workflows across
multiple platforms. - Strong understanding of analytics, audience engagement, and emerging digital trends.
- Understanding of both traditional communication models (councils, local leaders, print)
and modern approaches. - Skilled in analytics, data interpretation, and translating insights into actionable strategy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in additional
European languages is highly desirable. - Experience working across diverse cultures and multi-language platforms.
Must hold a current temple recommend (if endowed) or be temple worthy (if not
endowed).
Working Conditions
- Live or be willing to relocate within an hour's commute from the Area office in High Wycombe.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required in specific projects and
initiatives. - Some travel within the Area may be necessary.
