Job summary

Aspens Services is seeking an Area Catering Assistant to support school kitchens, manage basic food preparation and deliver friendly service during the lunch rush. Your role helps ensure smooth service across our area and maintains high standards of cleanliness and safety.

You’ll work Monday to Friday during term time (25 hours per week, 38 weeks a year) at £13 per hour. Training is provided, DBS checks may be required, and a driving licence is preferred to cover multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Team player with ability to work in a busy environment.
• Experience in catering or fast-paced service.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 is helpful but training will be provided.
• Full UK driving licence is preferred.

• Customer Interaction: Working on tills during service with full training provided.
• Front-Line Service: Providing friendly, polite service to students and staff.

The role:

As a Area Catering Assistant, you will be a vital part of the team, supporting kitchens within your area in basic food preparation and delivering excellent service that makes the lunchtime rush run smoothly.

You’ll be making a real difference through responsibilities that include:

Customer Interaction:Working on the tills during service (don’t worry, full training is provided!).

Front-Line Service: Providing friendly, polite customer service to all students and staff.

Essential Support: Assisting the team with basic food preparation

Maintaining Standards: Ensuring a safe, clean kitchen environment and meeting Health and Safety compliance
