Job summary

A local recruitment firm in Cirencester is seeking an experienced Architectural Technician/Technologist. The role involves preparing feasibility drawings, ensuring compliance with planning applications, and engaging with clients. Candidates should have at least 5 years PQE and proficiency in AutoCAD. Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • Ability to use AutoCAD proficiently.
  • Knowledge of JCT contracts (MW & IMW), contract administration experience.

Job description
Overview

Architectural Technician / Technologist based in Cirencester. Salary is dependent on experience. Hours: Monday - Friday, 9.00am - 5.30pm (flexibility is offered with some working from home).

Responsibilities
  • Prepare proposal/feasibility drawings for discussions with clients.
  • Prepare drawings to meet statutory requirements such as for planning applications, listed building consent applications, and building control submissions.
  • Undertake accurate measured surveys and prepare survey drawings (not essential).
  • Manage own workload and coordinate tasks within project teams.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum 5 years PQE.
  • Able to use AutoCAD.
  • Experience with listed buildings, understanding of the planning system, and strong building control knowledge.
  • Knowledge of JCT contracts (MW & IMW), contract administration experience, and project management experience.
  • Ability to write schedules of work/specifications.
  • Knowledge of UK Architecture & Building Regulations.
  • Experience with client engagement, ability to meet new clients and win work.
  • Desirable professional affiliations: MCIAT or MCIOB.
  • Able to manage own workload and work effectively within a Chartered Building Surveyors and Architectural Technicians team.
