About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Architectural Technician to join our team on a contract basis to support the delivery of residential refurbishments projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical design and detailing skills, with the ability to produce high‑quality working drawings and construction documentation in line with current UK Building Regulations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and develop detailed technical drawings, specifications, and tender packages.
• Work collaboratively with architects, engineers, and consultants through all RIBA stages (typically Stages 3-5).
• Ensure all designs comply with current Building Regulations, CDM, and other statutory requirements.
• Coordinate design information between disciplines and manage revisions efficiently.
• Liaise with contractors and suppliers to resolve technical queries during construction.
• Support the project team in delivering on time and to budget.
• Contribute to BIM model coordination (if applicable).

Essential Skills & Experience:

• HNC/HND or degree in Architectural Technology or related discipline.
• Proven experience working as an Architectural Technician / Technologist in the UK.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and/or ArchiCAD (specify preferred platform).
• Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and construction detailing.
• Experience preparing and coordinating technical drawings for tender and construction.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently.

Desirable:

• Chartered or Associate Member of CIAT (or working toward it).
• Experience with BIM coordination and clash detection software (e.g., Navisworks).
• Previous experience in housing, education, healthcare, or commercial projects.
• Working knowledge of NBS specification writing.
