Job description

An opportunity has arisen to work on a variety of exciting residential developments with this well-established property/Housing developer. They specialise in the design and construction of both social housing and private dwellings. Their projects range from small developments to large-scale, mixed-tenure housing schemes, often on greenfield sites. They are currently seeking an experienced Architectural Technician to join their team and support the delivery of high-quality housing developments. You will work in a supportive working environment within a growing property development company.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and develop detailed design drawings and technical information using AutoCAD.
  • Manage and submit planning applications, including liaising with planning departments and addressing any feedback.
  • Liaise effectively with building control officers to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Revise and adapt drawings as projects evolve, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external consultants to support the design and build process.
  • Assist in preparing design packages for tender and construction.
  • Provide technical support throughout the development lifecycle, from concept to completion.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 TO 4 years proven experience in residential design, ideally within housebuilding or property development.
  • Strong knowledge of UK planning processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; additional CAD BIM software knowledge is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with planning departments, building control, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt and respond quickly to project changes and design amendments.
  • Experience in both social housing and private residential developments advantageous.
  • Knowledge of building regulations and standards relevant to housing. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate across disciplines. Organised with excellent time management.
  • Strong IT and computer literacy skills.
