  • Strong computer skills including Excel and Word.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.

What Will Your Day Look Like?

As an Architectural Technician, you will be involved in the preparation and submission of major planning applications in line with the Region’s budget. You will have the pleasure of seeing these developments come to life and ultimately become people’s homes. You Will Also Be
  • Reviewing working drawings for bespoke house types and/or adapting standard house type working drawing in accordance with agreed planning drawings.
  • Preparing external works and other bespoke site plans to aid tender, construction or planning condition discharge.
  • Liaising with Site and Head Office regarding any queries relating to the planning drawings and working drawing requests.
  • Handling site queries when they arise.
  • Liaising with structural engineers and other third-party consultants relating to working drawing matters.
  • Preparing planning applications and delivering planning permissions in conjunction within the Planning & Land and Design & Technical Team.
  • Feed into site appraisals for the Land Team, providing layouts and planning advise, through consultants and other third parties.
  • Preparing Local Plan representations.
  • Discharging planning conditions and Section 106 Obligations.
  • Providing ad-hoc advice on planning matters within the region as required.
  • Ultimately running specific sites on own account.
  • Liaising externally with Planning Departments, Land Agents and Landowners.
What You'll Need To Succeed
  • Previous experience in a Design and Technical Department in a residential background or new build house-builder.
  • Minimum HNC in construction or related subject.
  • Computer / IT literate with capability to use excel, Word and database packages.
  • Ability to use AutoCAD.
  • 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) grade 4 or above including maths and English.
