Job summary

Mace is recruiting qualified architects for our central government team to support lead designers in delivering projects ranging from new builds to refurbishments, with values between £500k and £250m. The role is UK-based and open to applicants from all UK regions, with hybrid working options discussed where suitable.

You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary design team, using BIM and Revit to develop pre-construction design and provide post-tender technical advisory.

Qualifications

• Part 3 qualified and ARB/CIAT registered.
• Proficient in BIM and Revit.
• Experience in public and private sector projects within a multidisciplinary design team.

Our design team includes architects, architectural technologists, engineers, urban designers, master planners and interior designers. We deliver projects nationally for both public and private sectors including government departments, local authorities and private developers.

Mace is currently recruiting qualified architects for our central government team to support our lead designers in the delivery of their projects consisting of new builds, extensions, remodels and refurbishments with project values between £500k and £250m. The role is UK based and we welcome applications from all UK regions.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Developing and manages pre-construction design.
• Providing technical advisory role post tender.
• Seeking opportunities for continuous improvements/improving working processes. Develops effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Managing stakeholders.
• Collaborating with the wider design disciplines, client personnel and construction teams.
• Assisting with the production of reporting information.
• Attending/participating in client meetings and design workshops as necessary.
• Monitoring work outputs to ensure it is timely, in scope and of a quality expected.
• Engaging with business improvement directives. Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and shares responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
• Demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of technical and statutory regulations.
• Demonstrating Revit proficiency.
• Demonstrating ISO 19650 knowledge.
• Demonstrating knowledge of the Building Safety Act.

You’ll need to have:

• You are Part 3 qualified, ARB or CIAT registered.
• You are digitally savvy, especially in using BIM and Revit software and can build lasting client relationships and provide support to strong, motivated teams.
• You will have experience in public and private sector projects in a multidisciplinary design team within consultancy technical services background and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer.
