Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a Parks, Greenspace and Cemeteries Team Leader (Trees & Woodlands) based at Inverleith Depot. The role offers a salary of £40,501 - £47,639, 36 hours per week, and responsibility for leading the Arborist team and delivering high-quality services in our parks and woodland areas.

You will drive performance, manage budgets and health and safety, recruit and develop up to 20 operatives, and work with partners to improve our urban green spaces for residents

Responsibilities

• Lead the Arborist team within the Trees & Woodland Service, driving performance, efficiency and development.
• Develop and deliver customer-focused services within trees & woodland, including day-to-day supervision of staff.
• Assist in identifying service priorities and develop services to deliver agreed outcomes.
• Support policy implementation, procedures, and regulatory compliance to meet service objectives.
• Lead recruitment, induction, and development of up to 20 operatives and seasonal staff, plus supervision of contractors.
• Provide professional advice and deputise for the Manager when required.
