Job summary

North Yorkshire Council in Harrogate is seeking an Arborist to join the Tree & Woodland Team. The role covers tree climbing, pruning, dismantling and felling operations, using chainsaws and equipment, with a strong emphasis on safety and high standards.

Entry level grade requires City & Guilds/NPTC certification including safe use of wood-chipper and chainsaw maintenance; top level requires Level 3 aerial rigging. Driving licence (B+E) needed.

Qualifications

• Entry level grade requiring specific knowledge, training and qualification.
• Certifications listed for safety and operative capability.
• Includes tree climbing, pruning, dismantling and felling operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform tree work safely and efficiently according to risk assessments.
• Report defects and record information in tree management software.
• Maintenance of arboricultural equipment and on-site customer service.
