Job summary

Ealing Council's Tree Service manages over 90,000 trees across highways, parks and housing estates and provides guidance to Council departments. The Tree Officer will inspect trees, supervise contractors, assist in delivering the Tree Strategy and planting programme, and support environmental objectives.

A Level 3 arboricultural qualification (or Level 2 with progression) and access to a vehicle are required, with an enhanced DBS check.

Qualifications

• Hold an arboricultural qualification to a minimum of Level 3 (or Level 2 with plan to achieve Level 3).
• Access to a vehicle/transport for duties.
• Be subject to enhanced vetting and DBS checks.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cyclical tree inspections and monitor arboricultural contractors.
• Respond to customer enquiries and provide technical guidance as part of the Tree Service.
• Plan, coordinate and contribute to the borough's tree planting programme and canopy targets.
• Support delivery of Ealing's environmental objectives and professional development.
• Work with teams across the Council in a local authority or practical arboricultural context.
