Job summary

BCL Legal Limited is seeking an International Arbitration Associate to join their London office. The role targets professionals with 3-6 PQE to handle high-value international arbitration matters for investors and multinational clients.

You'll work within a leading arbitration team, engaging with complex commercial, investment treaty, and PIL disputes, while developing case strategy in collaboration with partners and senior lawyers.

Qualifications

• At least three years' post-qualification experience in England & Wales or a comparable jurisdiction.
• Strong academics and a robust understanding of international arbitration.
• Experience with commercial, investment treaty, or public international law disputes is highly desirable.

• They have a reputation for the resolution of complex and ground-breaking international disputes, with a mixture of both broad commercial and investment-related disputes.
• They handle high-profile corporate, commercial, and sovereign State dispute cases with a seamless service.
• Key sectors include aerospace, energy, construction, telecoms, financial services, and pharmaceuticals.

The role:

• As an Arbitration Associate within the team, you can expect to undertake a broad range of work within an established supportive collegiate department.
• The firm are looking for someone capable of developing into a trusted advisor to their biggest clients.
• Handling a broad range of arbitration matters, relating to commercial arbitrations, investment treaty arbitrations, and public international law matters.
• You will be representing investors, multinational corporates, and high-net-worth individuals in strategic, high-value, and reputation-critical disputes.
• Advising clients in the energy and financial services sectors on contractual and regulatory disputes, interlocutory relief, and collective action proceedings.
• Working closely with partners and other colleagues across the firm to formulate case theory and strategy on high-value, complex international arbitration cases.

About you:

• Applications are sought from talented Arbitration Associates, with at least three years' of post qualification experience, gained in England & Wales or a similar, leading common law jurisdiction.
• You will possess strong academics, and a confident understanding of international arbitration, ideally from a Top 20/Legal 500 background.
• Candidates should have strong organisation skills and a keen interest in joining one of the UK's most well-regarded firms.
