Job summary

BCL Legal, on behalf of a leading Global US law firm, seeks an International Arbitration Associate (2-4 PQE) to join their London office. The role involves handling commercial and investment treaty arbitrations and advising on CPR procedures.

You will work closely with partners to develop case strategy for high-value international disputes and gain exposure to top-tier clients in a highly regarded practice.

Qualifications

• Arbitration experience required: post-qualification experience of 2+ years in arbitration within England & Wales or equivalent common law jurisdiction.
• Strong academics and a robust understanding of arbitration practice.

Responsibilities

• Handle a broad range of international arbitration matters including commercial and investment treaty arbitrations.
• Advise on procedural requirements under CPR and practices before English Courts.
• Work with partners to develop case theory and strategy for high-value disputes.
• Contribute to management of cases under major arbitration rules.

• They have a reputation for the resolution of complex and ground-breaking international disputes, including investment treaty, general commercial, and sovereign state arbitrations.

The role:

• As an Arbitration Associate within the team, you can expect to undertake a broad range of work with a supportive collegiate department.
• The firm are looking for someone capable of developing into a trusted advisor to their biggest clients.
• Handling a broad range of arbitration matters, relating to commercial arbitrations, investment treaty arbitrations, and public international law matters.
• Advising on the procedural requirements under the CPR and practices before the English Courts.
• Handling cases under all the major institutional arbitration rules.
• Working closely with partners and other colleagues across the firm to formulate case theory and strategy on high-value, complex international arbitration cases.

About you:

• Applications are sought from talented Arbitration Associates, with at least two years' of post qualification experience, gained in England & Wales or a similar, leading common law jurisdiction.
• You will possess strong academics, and a confident understanding of employment law, ideally from a Top ranked Legal 500 background.
• Candidates should have strong organisation skills and a keen interest in joining one of the world's most specialised firms.
