Site Manager

Location: Field-based across Glasgow & Edinburgh (Hybrid – home and site visits)

Salary: Base + overtime & commercial vehicle with fuel card

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday

About the Role

Ground Control is looking for an experienced Site Manager to oversee the delivery of arboriculture and de‑vegetation projects across Scotland. This role is ideal for someone ready to step up from field‑based site work into a hybrid management position, balancing office‑based planning with site visits as needed. You’ll work closely with the Senior Site Manager and Contracts Manager to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

What You’ll Do
  • Oversee day‑to‑day project delivery and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Support and manage Site Supervisors and field teams to maximise productivity.
  • Accurately scope, price, and plan arboriculture works.
  • Develop clear task briefs and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Plan possessions and coordinate team schedules to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Monitor project progress, resolve issues, and drive high‑quality outcomes.
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience in arboriculture and de‑vegetation, including planning and pricing works.
  • Experience managing Site Supervisors or Managers.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills suited to a hybrid working model.
Desirable
  • Rail industry experience.
  • Certifications such as SMSTS, IOSH, NEBOSH, First Aid+, F and COSS.
