Job summary

Stantec is expanding its Freshwater Aquatic Ecology Team across the UK and Ireland. We welcome expressions of interest from consultants to senior principals and offer opportunities to influence technical capability, mentoring and business development while delivering projects on rivers, lakes and other freshwater habitats.

You will work on nationally significant projects and collaborate with specialists across ecology, hydrology, hydrogeology and engineering to protect and enhance freshwater

Qualifications

• Degree in Aquatic Ecology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Fisheries Science or related discipline.
• Membership of a relevant professional body; chartered status desirable for senior roles, or willingness to work towards accreditation.
• Experience undertaking, managing or interpreting freshwater ecological surveys and assessments.
• Knowledge of environmental legislation, planning policy and regulatory frameworks applicable to your jurisdictions.
• Experience in freshwater ecology areas including fish surveys, habitat surveys, river restoration and EIA/IEA inputs.
• Ability to communicate scientific information clearly and produce technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a varied portfolio of freshwater ecology projects across the UK and Ireland.
• Deliver technical guidance, mentoring and project delivery support across grades.
• Collaborate with ecology, hydrology and engineering teams to provide integrated solutions.
