Job summary

AMB Recruitment Group is recruiting for an Approved Electrician to join a leading employee-owned electrical contractor working on HV substations and renewables across the UK. Based from Bristol with weekly site travel, you’ll perform pre-energisation work on cable and switchgear, containment, and testing.

The role includes mentoring juniors, maintaining paperwork, and complying with health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Approved Electrician status or equivalent qualification is required.
• Experience on large-scale industrial installations preferable.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out pre-energisation site installations including cable and switchgear.
• Install containment systems such as cable trays and ladders.
• Install substation lighting and lower voltage power systems.
• Conduct inspection and testing in line with approved status.
• Mentor junior team members and apprentices on site.

We're looking for an Approved Electrician's to join a leading employee-owned electrical contractor specialising in high voltage substation and renewable energy infrastructure across the UK.

The role centres around pre-energisation electrical installation work on substation projects, including cable and switchgear installation, containment, and inspection and testing.
You'll be based out of the company's Bristol office on a Monday before heading out to site for the remainder of the week, working across a varied portfolio of wind, solar and battery storage projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out site installations on a pre-energisation basis, including cable and switchgear installation
• Install containment systems including cable trays and ladders
• Install substation lighting and lower voltage power systems
• Conduct inspection and testing in line with approved status
• Support and mentor junior members of the team, including apprentices
• Maintain accurate paperwork and ensure compliance with health & safety standards

Requirements

• Approved Electrician status (2391 or equivalent inspection and testing qualification)
• ECS card
• Background in large scale industrial installations. Substation experience is not essential
• Full UK driving licence

Package

• Base salary 45,500 ( 21.89 per hour)
• OTE c 70,000 with overtime and bonus
• Performance bonus up to 20%
