Job summary

The Vella Group invites applications for a Multi Skill Apprentice. You will train as a repair technician for 36 months, working on passenger and light commercial vehicles to pre-accident condition.

You will learn how to identify and remove mechanical, electrical, and trim components and assess damage for repairs, while training at dedicated colleges. Travel to training colleges is required with travel and accommodation covered.

• Completion of a 36-month apprenticeship programme.

Responsibilities

• Develop skills in strip and refit processes of vehicle systems including air conditioning and hybrid systems.
• Repair bodywork by replacing panels, filling defects, welding, bonding, and riveting.
• Prepare surfaces and paint refinishing through sealing, masking, priming and polishing.
• Attend off-the-job training courses to develop welding, riveting, panel bonding, air-conditioning, and wheel alignment.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment.

Working alongside experienced technicians you will learn how to identify and remove mechanical, electrical, and trim components; assess the level of damage and repair/replace panels as appropriate; and prepare and paint the required areas of the vehicle to the manufacture’s specification. Throughout the duration of the programme, you will be expected to periodically travel to one of our dedicated training Colleges to carry out skills training (all travel/accommodation expenses will be covered).

MULTI SKILLED APPRENTICE

Summary Of Position

Duties And Responsibilities

• To develop skills in strip and refit processes of all main vehicle systems including air conditions, vehiclealignmentand hybrid vehicle systems
• To develop skills in repair bodywork by replacing panels, filling defects, and carrying out techniques such as welding,bondand riveting
• To develop skills in preparing surfaces and paint refinishing through sealing, masking,primingand polishing
• To attend off the job training courses to allow you to develop including welding, riveting, panel bonding, air-conditioning,hybridand wheel alignment
• To engage in self-directed learning outside of normal working hours such as ensuring OneFile and weekly sheets are kept up to date
• To periodicallytravel toone of our dedicatedtraining Colleges
• To complete Functional Skills English and Maths (ifrequired, dependent on GCSE qualifications)
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment
• All PPE equipment should be checked daily and fit for us log sheet signed on a weekly basis

Based at Penrith, Preston, Southport, Stoke, Wednesbury.
