Apprenticeship Opportunity Community Care Assistant

Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care - Community Care Assistants. To provide care and support to people with a variety of needs enabling them to maintain their aspirations for independent living. The care and support provided may be to people with physical needs, sensory disabilities, mental health needs, people of any age group, or a combination of these.

Responsibilities
  • The responsibilities will be determined by the unique needs of each client receiving care. The setting in which care is delivered may vary based on the client’s living environment.
  • Willingness to carry out personal care, assist with basic daily living tasks, housekeeping etc, within the allocated timeframe.
  • Improve quality of life with tasks such as housekeeping and shopping. Deliver personal care. Administer medication.
  • To monitor the safety and well‑being of the person. To build positive relationships with the person and their families. Use personal care plans to deliver a person‑centred service.
  • To be responsible for adult support and protection. To monitor the person’s care needs, and report any required changes for the care plan. To maintain good quality records and notes.
  • To ensure equipment is being used effectively. To work in partnership with colleagues within the organisation.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Able to promote and deliver person‑centred care.
  • Able to promote dignity and respect when delivering care.
  • Interested in a carer in the community within Health and Social Care.
  • Care about the community they live in.
  • Willing to undergo formal health and social care accredited training.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and use own initiative. Ability to manage own time.
